feng shui for 8-mansions feng shui uses your birth date and
gender to calculate your Kua number.
Calculating your Kua Number
- Add the 4 digits of your year of
birth. If the result is a double digit number, add the digits so
that you have a single digit.
- If your a Female, add 4 to this
digit. Reduce to a single digit again, if necessary and the result
is your Kua number.
- If you are a Male, deduct the
result you obtain in step 1 from 11 and the result is your Kua
number.
- The 8-mansions formula is based
on the Chinese Solar (Hsia) calendar which has the cut-off date at
Li Chun (The Beginning of Spring) which normally falls on the 4th
or 5th of February. If you are born in February, check if your
dates is before Li Chun from the table at the next chapter. If it
is before Li Chun deduct 1 year from your birth year before
calculating using step 1. If your birth date is January you need
to deduct 1 year from your birth year before calculating using
step 1.
Example : Female born in 13th
December 1983.
- As the date is after Li Chun,
there is no adjustment needed.
- Add all digit of 1983 (1+9+8+3)
you get 21.
- Add again (2+1) and you get 3.
- Add 4 (Female) to 3 (result) you
get the Kua number i.e. 7
Example : Male born in 2nd
February 1958.
- Add all digit of 1958 (1+9+5+8)
you get 23.
- Add again (2+3) and you get 5.
- Deduct this number 5 from 11
(Male) you get the Kua number 6
There is no Kua number 5. For
Female Kua number 5 follow Kua 8.
For Male, Kua number 5 follow Kua 2.
